Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all you wonderful Fathers out there. I especially want to wish a Happy Father's Day to Brian, my Dad and my Father-in-law. They are the best Father's any child could ask for.
From the first time I saw Brian interact with a child, I knew he would make the greatest Dad. Sure enough I was right. Logan and Jenna adore their Daddy. Logan loves to do manly guy things with Dad. Jenna loves to snuggle and play games with her Dad. Brian is so loving toward our children. He is always willing to help me out with the kids, even if it means changing a poopy diaper. The thing I think our kids love most about their Daddy is that he takes time to play with them and teach them things. If it wasn't for Brian, Logan probably wouldn't know a single song, he wouldn't know how to use tools, or pee outside. :) Without Brian, Jenna wouldn't know how to stick out her tongue or blow raspberries/zerbits on our cheeks and she would never get a nap during church. Brian is a great Father. I am so glad he is the Father of my children.

Where do I begin with my Dad. He is the sweetest, kindest, and biggest softy you will ever meet. My Dad is always there when I need him. Not a day would go by that my Dad wouldn't tell me, "Christina, Do you know your Daddy loves you!" My Dad always makes me feel so special and loved. Thank you Daddy!
My earliest and most favorite memory I have of my Dad was when I was probably 2-3 years old. We lived in Walla Walla. Every Sunday when I would come down our long stair case after getting ready for church and my Dad would be sitting on the couch. As soon as he would come down the stairs he would whistle at me. The kind of whistle you do when you think something is cute( rit-roo .... my attempt at writing down what the whistle sounded like). You always made me feel so special when you did that.
This is my favorite picture of my Dad. I can tell by the way he is looking at me that he loves me.
I have so many wonderful memories of my dad. Here are a couple.
  • He was always there to support me in any event I had.
  • He taught me many life skills, like changing a tire. He drug me outside one day and forced me to learn how to change a tire. During college knowing how to do this really came in handy. I am now a pro at changing a tire.
  • I learned how to do some handyman stuff, with the remodeling of our house, and building a garage. To this day I still dred the day I had to put twist ties around all the rebar in the garage.
  • Jetskiing was always a blast. My Dad would even let me sneak along with the scouts.
  • When I was in the hospital delivering Logan, my Dad took time from work to come and visit me.
  • I asked my Dad to the Daddy/Daughter Dance at high school. He responded back in a creative way too. I think the hardest time I have ever laughed was when I watched my Dad do the Macarana and Country Line Dancing. That was probably the best date I have ever had. Below is a picture from that date. As you might notice my Dad is wearing his superman tie. He really is superman in my eyes.
There are so many other wonderful memories I have of my Dad. I really do have the best Dad. Dad, I love you too!
My Father-in-law is a wonderful man. He raised such a wonderful son. Thank you for being a great example to Brian. I am so grateful that he took time to teach Brian so many great skills. How many people are experts in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, tiling, car repairs, ect. You name it Brian can do it, but only because he learned it from his Father.
Thank you for always being there for us and giving us guidance and counsel. Thank you for always making me feel welcome in your family and treating me as one of your own daughters.
I can't help but think about one of the Primary songs about Fathers.
The Father of our home,
Leads our family,
With wisdoms light in all thats right,
My Father's good to me.

Father's are so special,
With a very special love,
They watch us and protect us,
They guide us and direct us,
Back to our home above.
